HEIRLOOM: Borage, also known as a starflower, is native to the Mediterranean region and has naturalized in many other locales. Both the leaves and flowers are edible. The starry blue flowers have a sweet, honey-like taste. They are often candied and used to garnish desserts. Young leaves taste like cucumbers and can be used in salads. Excellent companion plant for tomatoes, spinach, strawberries, and squash, attracting beneficial insects to the garden. Self-sows. Height: 2' (Sun/Part-sun)
